Death Cookie Ent. signs on to do post-production for “Screaming Hand: The life story and art of Jim Phillips” presented by Remind Productions
Just finished up all of the video elements for the Billabong XXL awards show. This included all of the nomination packages, a show intro, four in depth packages for the “Ride of the Year” nominations and a 30min year in review of all the sessions from the entire year.
The largest challenge was dealing with the large amounts of various compressions that came in from all over the globe. Also, making sure that all of these elements were made available for viewing by all of the clients working on the project proved to be daunting. For that, I tried a website called TakeOffVideo.com which allowed me to load clips to a youtube style website that was viewable by direct invite only and allowed multiple people to comment on various different videos. It definitely made the project run smoother. Especially because one of the clients was in Indonesia working on a project and couldn’t download large files due to limited internet capabilities. I highly suggest giving it a try to see if it helps streamline your approval process.

I recieved an email the other day from my buddy Chris “Fung” Philips that works over at Loser Machine inviting me to the 2nd annual Chops & Rods show. Assuming that it would be quite the scene, I decided to bring my camera along to capture some cars and characters. Later in the week I was going through some of the footage while listening to my friend, Mr. Isaac Allen’s new album “Don’t Smoke.” From there, it all just kind of fell into place!
This is the third consecutive show that Deep Communications has turned to Death Cookie Entertainment to cover the Action Sports Retailers trade show in San Diego and this show was by far the biggest and best show yet. This time around ASR had a total of four shows comprising the event (ASR, Class@ASR, Sacred Craft, and Crossroads) and they wanted more in depth coverage than ever before. Death Cookie Ent. was able to meet all of the clients video needs (30 videos shot during the three day event) and deliver all of the final videos either on site or within a week after the event and promoted the videos online to ensure they were being viewed by people in the action sports industry.

I got the chance to link up with skateboard legend Jamie Thomas yesterday to talk with him about Crossroads (his trade show.) I was trying to listen to all of the cool things that he was saying, but I kind of wanted to apologize to him for all the times I’ve hucked his avatar off a roof while playing Tony Hawk Pro skater.
I guess I’m hoping that there wasn’t some crazy voodoo doll effect…
